School Closure - Home Learning

Please see attached information, resources and links to help your child with home learning during the school closure.

This school closure will inevitably have an impact on your child’s attainment and progress. However, if children do some school work each day, the impact of their absence from school will be minimised. I have prepared tasks that your child can complete at home that will keep their learning ‘ticking over’ for a successful return to school in due course. Working in a quiet space, your child should try to do academic tasks as independently as possible, before talking through answers with you. All of the activities have been selected from the National Curriculum or subject areas that your child has already covered in class. For the more creative and practical tasks, please do together with your child/as a family and enjoy learning together; above all, have fun, learn to cook, bake, garden and play too but mostly, STAY SAFE! :)

Note: There are many ideas here on the class pages. These activities are a suggestion … please do not feel that each and every activity needs to be completed. Read the work carefully and decide which ones are appropriate for your child.

Curly Wurly Challenge - how far can you stretch a Curly Wurly? We tried to beat the world record!

We loved reading with Class 2 - shared reading was great fun!

Measuring in Maths - we measured anything we could find in class. Class 4 used their excellent measuring skills and knowledge of length to convert measurements of different classroom objects. We were surprised by some objects!

World Book Day: we enjoyed dressing up and making our own book front covers.

Classroom Orienteering - Y6 tried answering tricky questions in an active way this week.
