Gymnastics Festival 2020

Year 2 had a fantastic time at the Queen Katherine School Gymnastics Festival. We saw some amazing gymnastics and the children were able to showcase their skills. We even came away with 3 medals! Well done all!!

As part of our topic on food, we went to Strickley Farm which is an organic dairy farm. We made butter from some cream, the children learnt all about dairy and how we get milk. We milked some (pretend) cows and did lots of farm jobs! It was very tiring being a farmer for the morning!! Children learnt how milk goes from the cow to the dairy, into the trucks, to the factory where it is pasteurized so that it is safe to drink. A great day out on the farm :)

We have started our topic of 'Food, Glorious Food!' using the story of Handa's Surprise. We have been tasting all the different foods from her basket and made delicious fruit salads. We have also found out lots of interesting facts about Kenya!

Welly Wednesdays

We have been exploring our senses in the woodlands. Cooking food on the campfire, making smelly cocktails and finding out about how the woodland changes during the Autumn season. We are finding out about evergreen and deciduous trees. Look at the wonderful pictures children have made from the leaves found on the woodland floor!
